Aloe Vera plant vs Aloe Vera Gel(product)?

I have a live plant in my house and use the gel from the actual plant. Products bought in a store will usually have all kinds of chemicals and other ingredients. I suppose it is unclear whether or not store bought products are actually dangerous or not but I would certainly be more inclined to use what my live plant gives me. Good luck.
