Community college dating?

okay no friends or acquaintences in college I don't want to just approach girls walking by or creep them out by invading their personal space and giving a giant fake smile and a hi not to many activities at my college if I had friends I'd hang out at lunch and meet people but as I don't finding it difficult I don't have a problem approaching girls just no real open oppertunities because just when I look at somone who looks pretty they kinda give me the evil stare 0_0!! anyway all suggestions or comical answers welcome :P
