Will anything happen if i iron a 5 gum wrapper?

its a long story, part of an art project. since the 5 give wrappers are shiny and come in pink and blue, their perfect for what i need. but since i chewed all the gum inside of the wrapper, they are now very wrinkly, and i need them to be smooth and attractive. will they melt or anything? i'm not sure about what to do. thank you (:
