Can I actually do this in my wedding?

I've seen in movies that if a couple getting married doesn't want the " if anyone should object, speak now or forever hold your peace," line in their wedding they can take it out. i was wondering if they only do this in movies or if i can have it removed in my wedding. my family hate my fiance and i'm afraid they might really object during the ceremony. also, i've heard of some people having dogs in their wedding ceremony. would i be able to have my cat,( he thinks he's a dog), be the ring bearer in my wedding. he is very well trained and would do a great job. we are getting married at a country club and they are very animal friendly so i don't think they would mind a cat, but could i really have that at my wedding?
