Inception? Was it a dream or was it real?

I think he went even deeper and waking on the plane was a dream. I believe he spent a lifetime after getting home to his kids and then upon dying rode the push up threw all the other stages. Of course they wouldn't show something so conclusive as to ruin the mystery of it all. I definitely know the end wasn't 'real' because of the kids having not aged.
