Is 9.8 low for a hemoglobin blood test if it is low how low is it and what would cause it?

is it an easy treatment for low hemoglobin and can it be cured quickly, and what is the treatment? I'm a 21yr old female and I am seeing my doctor in around a week but I'm just curious to get advice from anybody whose had experience with this. could having a infection cause this?
