What is the best scenic way to get to the port angeles from seattle airport?
I would recommend driving to Edmonds and taking the Edmonds/ Kingston Ferry and then take 104 to 101. That will take you through most of the prettiest part of the Peninsula and you should miss most of the traffic. If this is your first trip to Washington I'd recommend stopping in Seattle. Then when you get to Edmonds which is just north of Seattle stop in the down town area. There are a number of cute shops and very nice restaurants. The ferry ride is short but very pretty. On a clear day you will get good views of Mt Rainier, Baker, the Olympics and Cascades. Port Townsend is a nice place to visit and has a nice downtown but is a little way off 101. Continue on 101 to Port Angeles. Just out of Port Angeles is Hurricane Ridge (check to make sure it is not closed for the season.) The view is spectacular. You can see the Cascades, Olympics, San Juan Islands, Canada and many more sites from Hurricane Ridge which is at over 5000 feet. Then follow 101 through some of the most beautiful country you will ever see. Be sure and stop at the different beaches along the way. Enjoy your trip and bring your camera. Oh also bring a variety of clothes. It can be warm to very cold and rainy or snowy. The weather changes very quickly on the Olympic.
